What did one apple seed say to the other? “Let’s go grow!” To celebrate National Johnny Appleseed Day, let's look at these apple-ly events and the best ways to celebrate this national holiday! Johnny Chapman was born on September 26, 1774, into a family of 13 living in a small house. He took off to explore the West and find new adventures, which led him to plant apple seeds in northwestern Pennsylvania. From then on out, he was known for planting apple seeds wherever he went. He was often seen without shoes and with a pot of his head to act as a hat. This kind man was offered places at family dinner tables and introduced not just a scrumptious fruit but also a homestead for apples and making hard ciders.
