Are you looking to pick the perfect pumpkin with your kids this year? Or maybe you're just going for the annual photo shoot? Perhaps you'd like to skip the patch but still find the greatest pumpkin in Pittsburgh? Maybe you're just in it for the hayride and want to hit up a new farm every weekend? Triple B Farms is located just 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh but is well worth the drive if you're looking for a fun place to make fall memories and PYO pumpkins! Triple B's Fall Festival is the perfect place for making family memories with acres of fun every Saturday & Sunday in the fall for only $17/person! For over six generations, the Trax family has passed down the importance of quality, tradition and family and is one of the oldest and most-awarded fruit and vegetable farms in Pittsburgh and the South Hills. Mom's love Trax Farms because of their large market and gift store. They do get packed during their Fall Festival on the weekends so head there during the week to let your kiddos climb the huge stacks of pumpkins in their nursery and play on the Amish swing set if you like to avoid large crowds.

My favorite thing about Simmon's Farm is that you can upgrade your ticket to $21 to include a PYO pumpkin (NO weighing needed) and ear of Indian corn from the field (while supplies last). It's kid friendly, not massive, but perfect for younger kids with 4 play sets with small slides, petting zoo, bounces houses, corn pit, swings, and more. We think what makes Janoski's tip the scales though is that they have a little winery in their market where you can sample before you buy (and we hear it's delicious)!

Sewickley United Methodist Church

Sewickley United Methodist Church operates one of its biggest fundraiser of the year by selling pumpkins from the lawn of the church. The pumpkins come all the way from a Navajo Indian Reservation in Farmington, New Mexico. For more info on this, you can go to www.pumpkinsusa.com.

The Pumpkin Patch opens up the end of September through the end of October. Walking is the only permitted form of entrance so be sure to bring your stroller or wagon to tote your little ones (and their pumpkins) on a half-mile, all-terrain walk. Please note the pumpkin patch is not handicap accessible. Explore a scenic walk to the pumpkin patch Monday-Friday at no cost and only $2 per person on Saturdays & Sundays (not including the price of the pumpkin). Hayrides to the Pumpkin Patch run on Saturdays & Sundays from 11am-5pm, $5 per person. Take a hay ride, pick a pumpkin, run and jump in the hay maze, spend some time enjoying the petting zoo and browsing seasonal items and gifts. Iron Mills Farmstead Outdoor Family Fun

Irons Mill Farmstead is located a short drive from Pittsburgh in Mercer County and is the perfect spot for learning, growing, and outdoor play.  Aside from $4.50 pumpkin add-on from Simmon's, we have found that Aldi and Sam's Club always have great quality and affordable pumpkins.
