One of my favorite things about spring and summer is fresh produce and it's almost farmers market and pick-your-own time in the South Hills of Pittsburgh!
We love supporting our local Pennsylvania farmers and buying locally-grown produce and goods. Plus, it's fun for the whole family to visit a pick-your-own (PYO) farm or a farmers market in Pittsburgh. If you'd like to support your local farms but are too busy to put your boots on, maybe consider a CSA opportunity or online pickup at a farm. You can find a few of those that deliver to the South Hills at the bottom of this guide.

Here are four things to note before heading out to farmers markets or PYO farms in Pittsburgh.
- Pick-your-own farms can sometimes change hours on short notice dependent on weather, produce availability, and other factors. It's best to call ahead to make sure pick-your-own is available that day. Prices can also change from day to day.
- Bring your own containers or bags to avoid any extra charges!
- Bring cash as some South Hills' farmer market stands and pick-your-own farms don't take credit cards.

City of Pittsburgh Farmers' Market - Carrick
When: Wednesdays from 3-7 pm | June 19th - November 20th, 2024
What: All markets sell farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheese and baked goods, while several locations also sell flowers, small gifts and hot prepared foods to go. All markets accept food stamps (SNAP), credit and debit cards as part of Just Harvest’s Fresh Access program.

Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy
What: Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy is a 130 acre family owned farm that has a herd of more than 100 alpine and Nubian dairy goats and bring in cow’s milk from le-ara farms to make a variety of fresh and aged cheeses using traditional techniques for artisan cheese production.
