There are SO many spray parks, splash pads or playgrounds with water features for kids in the South Hills of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas that are completely free and totally fun!
Cool off during hot days from late spring to early fall at Pittsburgh's coolest aquatic facilities—"spray parks!"
You don't need swimming skills to enjoy the spray parks. From the tiniest toddler to a pre-teen adventurer, and even those using wheelchairs, children of all ages and abilities enter with equal enthusiasm.
Let your imagination run wild, as movement sensors cause sprayers to magically turn on and off in this three-dimensional world of water. It's guaranteed to bring back memories of running through sprinklers...but this time with a lot more fun, color and movement; and, it's FREE!
While we have rounded up the spray parks we love in the South Hills, we've also included some of our favorites that are worth the drive.
Macaroni Mama tip- some advance planning goes a long way when heading to a splash park. Have your kids wear a bathing suit under their clothes and crocs or water shoes if they have them. Pack an extra set of clothes (including socks, underwear and shoes), towels, sunscreen, proper cleanup and equipment for possible sand play, and lots of water bottles and snacks to avoid hangry kiddos. We love to see photos of your kiddos having fun so if you visit one of the Pittsburgh splash parks on our list, be sure to snag a photo and use the hashtag #macaronikidsouthhills for a chance to be featured on our social media!
*****Due to COVID-19 safety measures, some of these spray parks may be closed for the season or operating under reduced capacity. Please always confirm hours with venue prior to arriving.*****
