Farmer's Market Guide for the South Hills of Pittsburgh

Support Your Local CSA's, Farmer's Markets, PYO & Dairy Farms

By Emily Papa, Publisher of Macaroni Kid South Hills April 25, 2021

One of my favorite things about spring and summer is fresh produce and it's almost farmers market and pick-your-own time in the South Hills of Pittsburgh!

We love supporting our local farmers and buying locally-grown produce and goods. Plus, it's fun for the whole family to visit a pick-your-own (PYO) farm or a farmers market in the South Hills. If you'd like to support your local farms but are still practicing strict social distancing, maybe consider a CSA opportunity or online pickup at a farm. You can find a few of those that deliver to the South Hills at the bottom of this guide.

Thank you to Triple B Farms for sponsoring this guide!

Here are four things to note before heading out to farmers markets or PYO farms in Pittsburgh.

  • Pick-your-own farms can sometimes change hours on short notice dependent on weather, produce availability, and other factors. It's best to call ahead to make sure pick-your-own is available that day. Prices can also change from day to day.
  • Bring your own containers or bags to avoid any extra charges!
  • Bring cash as some South Hills' farmer market stands and pick-your-own farms don't take credit cards.
  • Many farmer markets and pick-your-own farms in Pittsburgh have mandatory mask rules, capacity limitations or other requests in place due to COVID. Please check their websites or social media sites before heading out!

Here are the details on South Hill's farmers markets, pick-your-own farms, local dairy farms and CSA's:
