Summer camps in the Pittsburgh area offer a great experience for children to gain independence, form unique friendships and learn new skills! Camps offer opportunities that simply aren't available in most schools. Whether the camp be a day camp, a neighborhood DIY camp, or a sleep away camp, it allows for your  child to immerse themselves in a whole different world! We know that after last summer, most children(and parents) are looking forward to a summer of semi-normalcy! 

Listed below are some of the MANY summer camps available to your children in the South Hills of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.  We've featured camps that feel they're the perfect fit for our Macaroni Kid families and are adding more each week! The summer of 2021 will mark the 26th year of existence for Eric Kasperowicz's Youth Football Camp "ekfootballcamp."  ekfootballcamp is the longest running camp in the greater Pittsburgh, PA region, and the best, having impacted over 5,000 participants.

Boundless possibilities! The Recreation Summer Day Camp Program for children ages 6-10 will provide interesting experiences to spice up your child's summer! Day Camp is divided into week-long sessions with activities developed around a different central theme each week.

Summer Musical Theater Camp at Pittsburgh Musical Theater

Summer Musical Theater is a day camp for young artists ages 4 - 18 that offers training in acting, voice, dance, and technical theater.

The first three weeks students train and rehearse at our studios in the city's West End. In the final week of camp, students will experience the excitement of performing in a fully produced show in our open-air, outdoor West End Canopy.

Iron City Ninja offers a parent-child style camp for 3 to 5-year-olds where they can channel their inner ninja doing various obstacles while parents work on functional fitness alongside them.

Gaynor's School of Cooking

Our major objective during these programs is for the children to discover the fun of cooking and to realize that there is more to enjoy than just hamburgers and pizza. In creating meals themselves they are often willing to try some foods that otherwise they would turn their noses up at.  By starting early not only do we hope they will develop a passion for good healthy food, but also discover a lifelong joy of cooking.

For over 30 years, the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) has inspired millions of children through its flagship summer program, Camp Invention®. Available in both at-home and in-person formats, the week-long program is led by certified educators and teaches children in grades K-6 how to cultivate the mindset of an innovator. 

Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program

The signature Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program will be running virtually in 2021. The 2-week opportunity is available to rising sophomore, junior, and senior girls—trans and cis—and non-binary students. No prior computer science experience is required.
