Celebrate the Fourth of July with star-spangled science!

Thurs., July 4
6–11 pm

Secure the perfect view of Pittsburgh’s beautiful fireworks in an explosively fun way and get guaranteed parking in one of the Science Center’s lots. All tickets include a reserved viewing area, a movie and popcorn in The Rangos Giant Cinema, live entertainment, a cash bar, four floors of exhibits, and live theater shows.

• Access to the two-story, 12,000-square-foot The Science Behind Pixar exhibition

GROUND FLOOR | The Rangos Giant Cinema

Incredible Predators deconstructs the world of major predators as never before, taking an intimate look at the remarkable strategies they use to succeed. Advanced filming techniques expose the planet’s top predators in extraordinary footage, putting the audience right beside them as they hunt – on land, under the sea, or in the air.

FIRST FLOOR | Science Stage

Take physics to the limit! Investigate forces and motion as we smash it, bash it, and crash it.

Physics Smash Lab – 6:45 and 8 pm

SECOND FLOOR | Buhl Planetarium

Soar through the skies and explore the constellations!

Stars and Fireworks Over Pittsburgh – 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, and 10:15 pm

THIRD FLOOR | BodyStage

Cook up some chemistry in the kitchen with mixtures and solutions. Experience a delicious caramel treat. Our fiery finish has some tasty results!

Caramel Chemistry – 6:30 and 7:30 pm

FOURTH FLOOR | Works Theater

This electrifying show features our Tesla Coil and its one-million-volt display of light and sound. Presentation includes static charging equipment, magnets, and other concepts of electrical charge.

High Voltage – 7, 8, and 10:15 pm

XPLOR Store is open until 9 pm.

Café Terrace Viewing Area Guests

• Setting up personal blankets and chairs may begin at 5 pm. Please leave these items in your vehicle until then.
