On September 18, join the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and the Humane Animal Rescue for “The Parks & Pups Party,” a special edition of Family Day in Allegheny Commons Park celebrating the completion of the Hartzell Monument restoration. The Hartzell Monument is one of the City’s few memorials to honor a woman. It was placed in the park in 1909 in memory of Annie Hartzell, a Western Pennsylvania Humane Society founder. “The Parks & Pups Party” will include a balloon artist, face painting, a special treat for attendees, activities from the Humane Animal Rescue, and more! Family Days at Allegheny Commons are generously supported by Green Mountain Energy.
