WHY MINI GOLF?
The Pittsburgh Innovation District (PID) alongside the Oakland Business Improvement District continually looks for ways to activate public spaces and support the businesses in and around the Oakland community. Building off the successes of the pedestrian conversion of Oakland Ave in 2020, The Pittsburgh Innovation District Oakland Open offers a new way for Pittsburghers to get outside in a safe and fun environment by pioneering the first pop-up mini golf course that will be open snow, rain or shine! After a round of Oakland-theme golf, PID invites families, visitors, students, researchers and more to explore the diverse offerings of Oakland including its eclectic restaurants, world-class cultural institutions and beautiful public spaces.
