Find Your Family Fun at DaVinci Studio and Cafe in Bethel Park, PA

Family Makerspace for Kids of All Ages

By Emily Papa, Macaroni KID South Hills Publisher February 26, 2025

There’s no limit to what kids can do when they have the resources to let their imagination lead the way, and we've found the perfect place in the South Hills for that! MacKID publishers were graciously hosted by DaVinci Studio and Café in Bethel Park where we were able to explore this incredible makerspace.

Before we got down to exploring, Lisa and I got to adult over a delicious cup of Persian tea.

At the same time, our kids explored creating of all kinds. At the painting station, there were blank canvases for the creative mind or one's that were pre-sketched for those wanting a little more guidance.

When we got here, this play window was a blank slate. Our kids took it upon themselves to turn it into a theater, created puppets out of paper, feathers, googley eyes and more, and then put on a performance. I loved watching them dream up this whole scenario from beginning to end.

My little man was probably the biggest explorer at DaVinci. He went from building blocks to coloring to paper crafts and more. The owner, Golnaz, even helped him use the laser engraver!

It was so heartwarming to see where their little brains and hands took each one of them in this brand new, inclusive maker space. They were so invested in what they were doing, it was hard to get them to leave!

DaVinci Workshop and Café is an all-ages makerspace located in Bethel Park, PA. Their workshop offers three sections: a Family Section for all ages, a Kids Section for ages 3-14, and a Coffee Bar with snacks and pastries from local bakeries. DaVinci has open hours and also hosts special workshops, camps, and birthday parties. Check out their website for more information https://www.davinciworkshopcafe.com/, and don't forget to tell them you heard about it from Macaroni KID!
