Taking our son to his first Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game was the highlight of our summer so far! He loves watching baseball, and I couldn’t wait for him to watch a professional game! We chose to attend a game on Family Fun Days! On select Sundays, now through August 25th the Pittsburgh Pirates have special events for families. We arrived about an hour early to enjoy a pre-game celebration on Federal Street! We were greeted with amazing music and so much entertainment. My children got baseball and Pirate Parrot tattoos on their faces, which got them fan-ready for the game! They also enjoyed decorating Eat N Park smiley cookies and getting a balloon animal!

When we were ready to go into the game, the kids were so excited to receive a free Eat N Park cookie. On select Sundays, every child under 14 receives a gift! Before we made it to our seats, we stopped at the guest services desk to receive a first-game gift certificate! Sebastian's smile says it all!

While walking through the stadium, the kids of course saw all the food stands and became hungry! I love that on Sunday’s families can enjoy classic ballpark food with a variety of items for only $5. The kids enjoyed a hot dog, and we stalked up on water because it was a very hot day! I got a Primantis sandwich because nothing screams Pittsburgh more than Primantis and a baseball game!

Attending games as a child, I always loved to see who was throwing out the first pitch. During our game, it was the smiley cookie from Eat N Park and the kids thought it was so fun! They made it about 3 innings before needing a little break, so we headed onto the first level, where there were so many activities to see and explore. They have a, bounce bridge, a climber, and a playground. We walked to each one and then went to the main merchandise store. We had to get Sebastian some new Pirates gear to remember his first game!

I’m so thankful they have different ice cream stands all throughout the park because it was so hot we enjoyed ice cream on two occasions! The kids loved watching the Pierogi race and seeing the Pirate Parrot dance around the stadium. At the end of the game, kids are allowed to run the bases.

The Pirates did an amazing job of keeping my two young kids entertained while watching the game throughout the entire day! Going to games before having kids, I never realized how much entertainment is offered for the kids. It’s truly a full-day experience and event! We can’t wait to attend another game this season!
