Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. With a Day of Service

Observed each year on the third Monday in January, MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service, encouraging Americans young and old to volunteer to improve their communities. Check out this article for over a dozen ideas of ways you can give back with your families today.


Martin Luther King Day At the Children's Museum 

Join us to celebrate and commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and all that he stood for. Throughout the day, we’ll engage in activities that help us remember his legacy and inspire children and families to continue his work.


Dr. King Coloring Page at The Seesaw Center

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day the Seesaw Center will be open normal hours, 9:30am - 3pm. To honor Dr. King, there will be an educational coloring page available. 


MLK Day Family Skate Session at Neville Roller Dome

Join Neville Roller Dome for their annual MLK Day Family Skate Session Monday from 1-4.


Let Freedom Sing - The 16th Annual Concert Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Be the dream! Celebrate unity and diversity on the MLK Holiday Weekend with an unforgettable evening Saturday, January 14th at 7pm filled with inspirational words, music, and dance. Donations benefit Let Freedom Sing Concerts and the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank


The Audacity to Believe - Monday, January 16th

KST uplifts the life, legacy, and activism of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through our annual MLK community event. Join us in our lobby for a day of family-friendly activities with Assemble, The Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation, The Alloy School, Latino Community Center and The Union Project that celebrate the civil rights legacy of Dr. King and Pittsburgh activists past and present. Then, come take a seat in the theater for performances from Pittsburgh artists Hill Dance Academy Theatre, Alumni Theater Company, K-Theatre Dance Complex, and Jacquea Mae.


Volunteer for MLK Day - Monday, January 16th 2-7:30

Register today to participate in the MLK Day of Service on January 16! All projects will be indoors. Volunteer projects may include: -Painting -Cleaning/Beautifying buildings -Packing food/hygiene kits -Organizing supplies -Helping in a food pantry -And MORE!
