I'm a firm believer in swimming lessons as a life-saving skill. Something that's absolutely necessary. Not for fun: as a life-saving skill. I urge you to check out the many opportunities to enroll your child in swim lessons in the South Hills! While we have rounded up some free learn to swim options in Pittsburgh for you, if the times and locations don't work for you, maybe look into some paid classes and consider it an investment.
Allegheny County offers FREE learn to swim classes at all the county swimming facilities taught by the Allegheny County Lifeguards! Ages 6 and up! These free swim lessons will provide instruction based on the American Red Cross guidelines. Children will be grouped according to skill level on the first day of class. 100% attendance is recommended. No certificate is obtained upon completion.
