Hello my South Hills family! I can't believe November is here and already flying by! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! It was the absolute best weather we have seen on Halloween in years, so we loved it.
My son originally wanted to be the chocolate part of a s'more, with his Pap as the marshmallow and his dad as the graham cracker; but we had some last-minute setbacks that resulted in us both being s'mores. I had lots of compliments on my creativity, but let me save you some mess for your own DIY s'mores costume. Do NOT attempt to glue real chocolate to your head. It's a terrible, sticky, horrible idea.
My daughter and her bestie dressed up as characters from a Disney Show, Liv & Maddie using this as their inspiration photo. I think they nailed it! Scroll through the IG photos below to see for yourself!
We also had the opportunity to see Simone Biles in the Gold Over America Tour at PPG Arena. I was SO impressed by the positive messages the performance portrayed and the impact it left on the audience. We had some lucky MacKID readers who went to the show too, and we hope they loved it just as much as we did!
Throw in some Fall Harvest and Pumpkin Carving parties and that about sums up our October. Let's talk November! Our event calendar is getting filled up DAILY with activities happening locally in the South Hills, and we are also still updating our Fall Family Fun Guide with fall happenings.
- We are working on our Holiday Gift Guide and 12 Days of Giveaways! Know of a local business or individual who wants to be a part of our Holiday madness? Send them this link for info about partnering with Macaroni KID South Hills, and we'll do the rest :)
- As we move towards the end of the year, SHIM is launching a Give Hope for the Holidays campaign. SHIM relies on our neighbors to help support programming in a variety of ways. Whether through monetary donations or food drives, every neighbor can make a difference. If you are looking for any local nonprofit organizations for year-end support, please consider donating to SHIM. You can find the many ways to donate as well as links to donation drive resources at www.shimcares.org/donate.
