Is there anything better than treating the kids to an ice cream cone on a hot summer day in the South Hills of Pittsburgh? We can't think of one. 

Luckily, we have a lot of great locally-owned ice cream shops in the South Hills where we can indulge in yummy goodness. Here are 10 of our reader's favorite places for ice cream in the South Hills of Pittsburgh (in no particular order):



Scoops on Beverly

Your friendly neighborhood ice cream parlor is calling your name. With scattered locations throughout the city, Scoops on Beverly is one of the most popular and the original location. Your kids will love the variety of flavors they have to offer, but don't stop here. Check out the other locations too because not every shop has the same flavors.



Graeter's Ice Cream

Graeter's is the last place still using French pot ice cream. With a variety of treats to choose from like candy, desserts and ice cream, they will have your kids minds spinning. Stop in and try their French pot ice cream to see if they are Graeter than the rest.



Shannon Sweet Stop
