PDE Health and Safety Plans

July 30, 2020

As the Back to School talk is all the rage, most of the parents I talk to are so torn about what to do this upcoming school year. In these unprecedented times, there is so much thought and consideration being put into "what is best" for our children. Each school in PA is required to create a Health and Safety Plan to guide each entity into reopening activities and then approved by each school's governing body.

While I am anxiously awaiting for my district to release its plans, you can find the most up to date information on schools in the South Hills from the PA Department of Education here:

Allegheny County

Washington County

Westmoreland County

If you don't see your school listed, their plans have not yet been submitted to the state. Be sure to save this page to check on updates and changes as they happen. Macaroni Kid South Hills is currently working with local educators to provide you with information on optional Virtual Education and support for the upcoming school year. Let us know in the comments your thoughts on your district's plans for reopening the school.
