Creative Camping Tips For Families - AS SEEN ON KDKA

Whether you are a seasoned camper or just starting out we found some super fun tips and tricks for any level of camper and this week's edition is packed with even MORE ideas!

 
The HAND-WASHING STATION was one of our favorites and we featured it on KDKA Pittsburgh Today Live.  A paper towel holder on an emptied laundry detergent bottle.  I bungee corded it.  Then I zip tied the soap to the plastic paper towel holder.  It's fabulous!

BEYOND MARSHMALLOWS

DON'T BE FOILED---Camping Cones!   



We absolutely loved the clever nature of this camping treat and it's super easy to put together!  Make a smorgasbord of great ingredients including classics like marshmallows and chocolate chips!  Throw in some strawberries and other great treats to create your very own- CAMPING CONE CONCOCTION!  

Whether you throw them into the fire pit ( only a few seconds or the marshmallows will be GONE) or you throw them in the oven at 400 degree for about 1 -2 minutes.  They are a hit! 

STAR GAZING FUN

We LOVE to look at stars anytime we're outside but when you're camping it can be amazing!  We chose this STAR GAZING APP, StarTracker Lite to guide us on our way.  The kids will LOVE IT! 

FYI:

You can also teach your kids to look for "SATELLITES."  Satellites orbit the earth on the same axis each night.  You can watch for the star like object careening across the sky in it's own orbital circle.  It takes a minute but I promise, you'll find one!
