Andy Brunette Youth Tennis Camp

Hopewell Junior High School Courts, August 6-8

July 24, 2014
Calling all kids! The First Annual Andy Brunette Youth Tennis Camp will be held on August 6-8. There will be fun, games, crafts, food, and prizes!

This fun, 3-day camp will teach your child how to play tennis using a format that's designed especially for kids ages 5-12. The coaches will be using the USTA 10-and-under format and equipment that uses:
  • Shorter racquets. These racquets are sized for small hands, making them easier to grip and swing.
  • Low-compression balls. They don't bounce as high as regular tennis balls, and they don't travel as fast. This makes them easier to hit.
  • Smaller courts. Kids can cover the courts and have more success when they play.
This format means that kids have more fun—and want to play more often. Tennis is a sport that gets kids moving, improves balance, agility and hand-eye coordination, and can teach self-confidence and self-assurance.

This 3-day camp is on:
Wednesday, August 6 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Thursday,
August 7 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Friday, August 8 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The camp fee is $65 if you register your child by July 28. After that day, the fee is $75. The camp will be held at the Hopewell Junior High Tennis Courts and will be conducted by two PTR-certified youth tennis coaches, Erin Grow and Duane Hardek.

Who was Andy Brunette?
Andy was a well-known and much-loved tennis coach in the Hopewell Township community. He was the boys' and girls' tennis and bowling coach for Hopewell High School and encouraged youth sports in our area for many years. He passed away unexpectedly in March 2014, and we think there is no better way to honor his memory and his commitment to tennis than by hosting a youth tennis camp!
