What To Take To The "Big Game" Day That's Not Food!

February 4, 2016
Invited to a party for The Big Game?  Everyone loves a good buffalo dip but we ALL know there is going enough food to feed the entire street!  Why not offer to bring a game or craft to keep the kids occupied instead?  Your host will appreciate the sentiment and the kids will love having a fun activity to look forward to during the game!
We have 3 ideas that are sure to be a hit with everyone in the crowd!

Penalty Flags AKA Party Foul Towel

Ever been at a party where someone is committing a party foul?  You know what I mean: laughing too loudly or talking too much during the commercials (after all that’s sometimes the best part)?  CALL THEM OUT!!!  Make enough of these penalty flags and let the kids be the referees!  The first step is to cut yellow fabric to be about 1 foot by 1 foot. Fill some plastic wrap with about a tablespoon of rice.

Wrap the fabric around the ball of rice and keep it together with a yellow rubber band and you’re ready to start calling some penalties!  I’ve also seen these made with small bouncy balls but I figured once the kids figured out they’d bounce, we’d be in some trouble so I stuck to using rice!

Score a Field Goal
This is a football take on the classic game of pin the tail on the donkey!  If your host is willing and has a large enough empty wall, you can put painters tape directly on the wall and make large goal post. Just put the same painters tape on the back of the football and see who can get closest to the middle of the uprights!  If you'd rather not have anything directly on their walls, just buy a study piece of poster board.  It works just as well and it's something you can either take back with you or leave as a hostess gift for their children!  You can either have the football already cut out OR print these out on white printer paper and take some crayons markers or other crafting supplies to have them decorate their own footballs to use for this game.  WARNING: If you would like to be invited back,  I DO NOT recommend using glitter on this project!  Glitter can be a mess that lingers for days. I would also recommend using all washable crayons and marker… just in case!
